Rep. Yassamin Ansari, the 34-year-old freshman Democrat representing Arizona's 3rd District, is romantically involved with Jack Cocchiarella, a 24-year-old YouTuber and progressive political commentator, according to a report published Thursday by TMZ.
Citing sources with direct knowledge, TMZ reported that the pair have been seeing each other for the past few months and that the relationship is going strong. The two initially crossed paths in spring 2025, when Cocchiarella conducted an interview with Ansari, and they later began spending time together as friends before the connection turned romantic, according to the outlet.
Ansari is simultaneously navigating a reelection campaign, with voters heading to the polls in November. Cocchiarella, meanwhile, has built a substantial online audience, including a YouTube channel with more than 1 million subscribers, and has interviewed prominent Democratic figures such as Gavin Newsom, Zohran Mamdani and Hakeem Jeffries.
When reached by TMZ, Ansari declined to discuss the matter, telling the outlet, "I'm not commenting on my personal life, nor is it anyone's business. Right now, ICE is terrorizing communities across the country with zero accountability, and Trump's reckless war in Iran continues raging on. I'm focused on helping to flip the House so we can pass meaningful legislation -- that's what we should all be focused on."
Cocchiarella likewise told TMZ that he prefers not to speak publicly about his personal life.
The report surfaces as Ansari balances her congressional duties with a competitive campaign in Arizona's 3rd District, where her public profile and online reach could play a role in the race.
