EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP - On Sunday, August 9, 2026 at approximately 3:42 am officers responded to the 2700 Block of Fire Road for a report of a stabbing that just occurred. Upon arrival, officers located two stab victims and they were immediately transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. The victims sufferedmultiple stab wounds to the face and body. Even though the injuries are severe they were later determined not to be life threatening.
During the investigation it was determined that Carlos Garcia-Moreno, 36 years old, from Pleasantville was the suspect. Approximately 6 hours later, while still investigating and searching for Garcia-Moreno, he turned himself in to members of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department.
Garcia-Moreno was charged with the following:
• Attempted Murder – 2 counts
• Aggravated Assault with a Weapon – 2 counts
• Home Invasion Burglary
• Endangering the Welfare of a Child – 3 counts
• Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purposes
• Possession of a Weapon
• Terroristic Threats
Garcia-Moreno was lodged in Atlantic County Justice Facilities. The case is being investigated by Detective Sergeant Brett Fair, Detective Patrick Daly and Officer Tahsin Chowdhury of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department. Assisting with the investigation was Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office, Atlantic City Police Department and Hamilton Township Police Department.
