Blueface was arrested Monday night in Santa Clarita and booked into the LA County jail on a charge of delaying a law enforcement investigation, a representative for the LA County Sheriff's Office told TMZ.com. The arrest followed a response to what authorities later determined was a bogus swatting call.
According to the Sheriff's Office representative, deputies were dispatched at 7:43 p.m. Monday to a business in Valencia, a neighborhood within Santa Clarita, after a report of a man pointing a gun at another person. Upon arrival, deputies detained several individuals, including Blueface. The rapper then refused to comply with police commands, the representative said.
The investigation ultimately revealed that the initial emergency call was false — an incident known as swatting, in which someone places a fake 911 call to draw police or emergency units to a specific location. Blueface's arrest stemmed from his alleged failure to follow deputies' instructions during the response, not from the original report.
The arrest adds to a lengthy legal history for the rapper. He is currently on probation after pleading guilty in connection with a 2022 shooting of another man in Las Vegas. Despite the recurring legal troubles, Blueface recently became engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Chrisean Rock.
The LA County Sheriff's Office did not provide further details about the charge or the circumstances of the swatting call. As of Tuesday morning, Blueface remained in custody, according to the Sheriff's Office representative.
