Wrestling icon Ric Flair is on the mend following a frightening fall in Florida on Friday, according to a social media update from his daughter, Charlotte Flair.
Charlotte Flair, herself a prominent professional wrestler, sought to reassure fans with a lighthearted post. According to TMZ.com, she wrote, "Not my dad telling the doctor he fell bc of warrior dropping him on his head... (p.s. he's going to be okay)."
The incident occurred Friday when Ric Flair, according to information obtained by TMZ.com, rose from the bar at Wagamama, crossed the street, and fell on his face. He sustained cuts to his head and eye in the fall and was transported to a hospital.
The fall came just hours after Ric Flair revealed he was unable to fly to a fan convention in Seattle because of a blood clot in his leg, TMZ.com reported.
The sequence of events — a disclosed blood clot followed by a fall requiring hospital treatment — underscores the health challenges facing the 77-year-old wrestling legend, though Charlotte Flair's update indicates he is expected to recover.
