Gottmik, the trailblazing performer who became the first trans man to compete on "RuPaul's Drag Race," was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a traffic collision in Burbank, California, according to a report published Saturday by TMZ.
Citing law enforcement sources, TMZ reported that Burbank Police officers responded at approximately 4:50 PM on Sept. 16 to a collision involving a black Porsche and multiple parked vehicles. Investigators determined that the driver of the Porsche struck a parked Toyota Camry, which was then pushed into two additional vehicles, according to the outlet.
The performer, whose real name is Kade Gottlieb, was identified by TMZ as the sole occupant of the Porsche. The report states that Gottlieb, 30, displayed objective signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication and was arrested for DUI. He was released the following day, Sept. 17.
Gottmik rose to national prominence on the 13th season of "RuPaul's Drag Race," where the contestant finished in a shared third-fourth place. Gottmik later returned to compete on the ninth season of "RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars."
TMZ reported that the outlet reached out to a representative for Gottmik for comment and had not received a response as of the time of publication.
