MAYS LANDING, N.J. — An Egg Harbor Township man is expected to serve 10 years in state prison after pleading guilty to drug and weapons charges stemming from a 2025 investigation that led police to cocaine, heroin mixed with fentanyl and three firearms.
Kirk I. Eason, 42, pleaded guilty Monday before Superior Court Judge Donna Taylor to second-degree possession with intent to distribute cocaine, second-degree possession with intent to distribute heroin and fentanyl, fourth-degree possession of hollow-point ammunition and second-degree certain persons not to possess weapons, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
Under the terms of the plea agreement, Eason is expected to receive a 10-year New Jersey State Prison sentence with five years of parole ineligibility.
The charges stem from an investigation by the New Jersey State Police Crime Suppression South Unit and Egg Harbor Township Police Department into Eason's alleged narcotics distribution activities.
Authorities executed search warrants Jan. 22, 2025, and recovered more than a half-ounce of cocaine and more than a half-ounce of heroin mixed with fentanyl from Eason's residence, prosecutors said.
Investigators also recovered three firearms, hollow-point ammunition and two additional weapons that authorities determined did not meet the legal definition of firearms.
Eason had more than $1,700 in cash on him when the warrants were executed, according to prosecutors.
The New Jersey State Police Metro South Unit, Atlantic County SWAT, State Police SIU South and State Police Hazardous Material Response Unit assisted with the searches.
Eason remains held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility while awaiting sentencing.
Taylor scheduled sentencing for Oct. 13.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit is prosecuting the case.
