FBI Director Kash Patel is engaged to his girlfriend, country music singer Alexis Wilkins, the couple announced in a Sunday post on X that featured a smiling photo of the two of them.
In the caption, Wilkins wrote, "Went and got the law involved," according to TMZ.com.
The engagement announcement was published on Sunday, October 4, 2026, one day before TMZ.com reported the news on Monday, October 5, 2026.
Patel and Wilkins have been a couple since around 2023. Wilkins told podcaster Megyn Kelly that she first met Patel at a friend's house during an event in Nashville, Tennessee.
Wilkins also told Kelly that she spent part of her childhood in England and Switzerland, but that she mainly grew up in Arkansas.
On her LinkedIn page, Wilkins describes herself as a country music artist and performer, among other things. In April 2023, she released her debut album, "Grit."
In 2025, Wilkins stood next to Patel as he was sworn in as FBI Director. The couple will now stand together again, this time at the altar.
As FBI director, Patel serves under President Donald Trump, who appointed him to lead the bureau. The engagement adds a personal milestone to a tenure that has already placed Patel in the national spotlight.
