Fine Denies Recollection of Mailbox Video Incident

Representative Randy Fine has cast doubt on the authenticity of video footage that appears to show him examining the contents of a voter's mailbox during his Florida campaign, despite his office previously confirming his identity in the recording to TMZ.

During an interview with Jacob, Fine stated he does not recall ever going through a mailbox and questioned whether the footage is genuine. When confronted with the fact that his office had confirmed to TMZ that he was the person in the video, Fine disputed that characterization.

Fine told Jacob that his office only indicated the individual in the footage resembled him, and he challenged how his staff could definitively identify him in the video. He further questioned how anyone from his team could make such a determination when none of them accompanied him during door-to-door campaigning.

The congressman explained that dozens of fabricated videos purporting to show him engaged in various activities circulated during the final two weeks of his race. While acknowledging the mailbox video could be authentic, Fine repeatedly emphasized he has no memory of the incident or any reason he would have looked through someone's mail.

Fine noted he knocked on roughly 500 doors while campaigning and does not remember stopping at that specific residence or examining the mailbox.

The Ring camera footage, obtained by TMZ and timestamped days before Fine's Republican primary, shows him conducting door-to-door canvassing. In the video, he stops at a home, rings the doorbell, and waits on the porch. The recording then captures him lifting the lid of the homeowner's mailbox and flipping through envelopes inside.

The footage does not show Fine removing, tampering with, or inserting any mail. When TMZ initially contacted Fine's office about the video, representatives confirmed it was the congressman in the recording.

Despite Jacob's continued questioning about his office's earlier confirmation to TMZ, Fine maintained his position that he does not know how his staff could make that identification.
