Fundraiser for Clancy Parents Tops $1 Million After Mistrial

A crowdfunding campaign established to assist the parents of Lindsay Clancy has accumulated more than $1 million in contributions, reaching the milestone as her murder trial concluded in a mistrial on Friday, September 4, 2026.

The Musgrove Family Fund had received donations totaling $1,167,727 from 34,400 contributors as of Saturday, according to the GoFundMe page. The campaign seeks to reach a $3 million target.

Campaign organizer Brandee Mulligan established the fundraiser to address the mounting financial burden faced by Mike and Paula Musgrove as they have stood by their daughter throughout the legal proceedings. The effort was launched with the full awareness and approval of the Musgrove family, and Lindsay Clancy's attorney, Kevin Reddington, has been informed of its existence.

According to the fundraiser description, Mike and Paula Musgrove have endured significant financial strain over a period exceeding three years. The couple relocated from Connecticut to Massachusetts to maintain proximity to their daughter, incurring substantial costs for repeated court appearances, temporary housing, and daily living expenses during this extended ordeal.

The GoFundMe page explicitly states that contributors are not being asked to adopt any particular stance regarding the criminal case itself. Furthermore, organizers clarified that none of the funds raised will be directed toward Lindsay Clancy's legal defense costs.

The fundraising surge follows Friday's courtroom developments, when a judge declared a mistrial after jurors proved unable to achieve unanimous agreement. The deliberations had extended approximately 38 hours before the panel reached an impasse. Reports indicated the jury stood divided 11-1, with a single juror maintaining a dissenting position.

Defense attorney Reddington promptly requested an opportunity to challenge the mistrial declaration before the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court. A justice conducted a hearing on the defense motion but ultimately denied the appeal, allowing the mistrial ruling to remain in effect.

Lindsay Clancy has acknowledged responsibility for the deaths of her three children—Cora, age 5, Dawson, age 3, and Callan, age 8 months—at the family residence in Massachusetts during January 2023. Her legal team mounted a defense centered on the argument that she was experiencing postpartum psychosis at the time of the incident and therefore could not be held criminally accountable for her actions.

Prosecutors have not yet announced whether they intend to pursue a retrial in the case.
