Halle Berry is pushing back against allegations of child abuse made by her ex-husband, Olivier Martinez, after he filed for and obtained a restraining order on Thursday. The filing accuses Berry of attacking their 12-year-old son, Maceo, last Saturday night while the child was at her residence.
Berry's attorney, Marina Beck, issued a sharp denial to TMZ, stating, "To say this filing is entirely meritless and deliberately misleading would be an understatement. There is voluminous evidence, including numerous judicial rulings, that Olivier Martinez repeatedly violated court orders and interfered with necessary therapeutic and educational interventions to the detriment of his and Halle Berry's minor son Maceo - misconduct for which Mr. Martinez has already been legally sanctioned."
Beck further told TMZ, "In a way, today's filing is not entirely unexpected from an individual with a well-documented history of erratic, possessive and violent behavior. Fortunately, Halle is used to this kind of outrageous conduct from Mr. Martinez and, while she is deeply saddened, she will not allow it to deter her from fighting for Maceo's best interests and providing him with the love and support he needs."
The restraining order was granted on Thursday, October 1, 2026, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. Martinez alleges in the filing that Berry attacked their son on Saturday, September 26, 2026. The legal move marks the latest development in a contentious co-parenting dispute between the former couple.
Berry and Martinez, who were married from 2013 to 2016, share custody of Maceo. The allegations and counterclaims are part of an ongoing legal battle that has seen both parties accuse the other of misconduct. Representatives for Martinez have not publicly responded to Beck's statements.
This story is developing and more information is expected to emerge as the legal proceedings continue.
