A legal challenge against Johnny Depp's rock band Hollywood Vampires has been dismissed by a court, which determined that the group did not have enough connections to Texas to be sued in that state. The lawsuit, brought by a concert promoter, sought approximately $277,000 in damages.
The promoter, Sten Hard, who is based in Slovakia, initially named band members Depp, Alice Cooper, and Joe Perry as individual defendants. However, according to TMZ.com, he dropped those individuals from the case at an earlier stage. Hard then pursued the band's corporate entity, Hollywood Vampires Touring, but the judge concluded that the entity lacked meaningful contacts with Texas, where the case was filed. Consequently, the court dismissed the suit for lack of jurisdiction.
The dispute stems from a canceled concert. Hard had argued that Hollywood Vampires were scheduled to perform in 2023 but withdrew on the day of the event. The promoter claimed the band cited an inadequate venue as the reason for the cancellation.
The dismissal, reported by TMZ.com on September 17, 2026, brings an end to the legal action against the band's corporate entity. The court's decision hinged on jurisdictional grounds rather than the merits of the promoter's claims.
