Jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer has spoken publicly for the first time about her Hawaii wedding to Geoffrey Ogunlesi, a ceremony that drew attention for an unusual detail: her ex-husband, actor Tobey Maguire, served as the officiant.
Meyer, 49, and Ogunlesi married on Saturday, October 10, in Hawaii. In an interview with Vogue published on Thursday, October 15, Meyer described the day in glowing terms, saying she felt as though she were floating on cloud nine and experienced no nervousness at all.
"I had zero jitters, just pure happiness," Meyer told Vogue. "Having our three children and our parents walk down the aisle made it even more special. And having Tobey, my ex-husband, officiate was so special. A little unconventional, but so perfectly us."
Meyer and Ogunlesi welcomed a baby girl earlier this year. She also shares daughter Ruby, 19, and son Otis, 17, with Maguire, 51.
The designer told Vogue that the wedding exceeded her expectations, describing it as heartfelt, full of love, and more magical than she could have imagined. She noted that being in Hawaii surrounded by the people they love most while marrying the love of her life left her still pinching herself.
The ceremony arrives shortly after Meyer and Maguire finalized their divorce in September, nearly a decade after they first separated. Court documents obtained by Us noted that a judgment of dissolution was entered, terminating the marital status and restoring both parties to the status of single persons. The former couple announced their split in October 2016.
In a joint statement to Us at the time of the separation, Maguire and Meyer said they had made the decision to separate as a couple after much soul-searching and consideration, adding that as devoted parents their first priority remained raising their children together with enduring love, respect and friendship.
Despite the end of their marriage, the two have maintained a close coparenting relationship. On the "Inside Edit" podcast last December, Meyer described Maguire as her best friend and said she would do anything for him. She also praised him as a father and as a friend, calling him the most generous person.
Meyer also told the "Inside Edit" podcast that Maguire and Ogunlesi share a strong bond, describing how the two men care deeply for each other. She recounted that during the January 2025 Los Angeles fires, she initially believed her Brentwood home would be safe, so friends and family gathered there. Maguire, who was staying in West Hollywood while renovating his house, urged the group to come to him when evacuation became necessary. Meyer, Ogunlesi, their two children and Maguire all stayed at Maguire's home, and she and Ogunlesi later moved next door to stay with Maguire's best friend for more space, with the whole group living together on what she called a compound.
