Katie Holmes marked her boyfriend's birthday with a public display of affection on social media, sharing intimate moments from Jason Bard Yarmosky's celebration on Tuesday, September 1.
The 47-year-old Dawson's Creek alum posted a carousel of images on Instagram featuring the couple holding microphones during what appeared to be a karaoke session. One photograph captured a darkened room illuminated by candles atop a birthday cake.
"Happy Birthday to the best of the best...❤️ @jasonbardyarmosky," Holmes wrote in the post, according to Us Weekly. The 38-year-old artist shared the tribute on his own Instagram account as well.
Two hours after the initial post, Holmes added an Instagram Story showing additional birthday festivities. Video footage captured the actress and Yarmosky seated at a table as he blew out the candles on his cake. Following applause from those gathered, Yarmosky turned toward a smiling Holmes, who embraced him before he kissed her head.
The public celebration follows Yarmosky's recent decision to make the relationship Instagram official. He previously shared a photograph via his Stories showing Holmes standing alone in an ivory two-piece ensemble consisting of a sleeveless, fitted top and matching midi skirt.
The couple first drew public attention in July when photographers captured them holding hands at a screening of The Invite. The Cinema Society hosted the event at East Hampton Regal UA in New York City.
Later that month, the pair appeared together again while departing Sienna Spiro's private performance, part of the Soho Sessions concert series in New York City. Reports from the evening indicated the duo were seen kissing and embracing while watching the show.
Both Holmes and Yarmosky call New York home. The artist has established his reputation through paintings and drawings after completing his studies at the School of Visual Arts in New York City in 2010. His website indicates his work explores themes of aging, time and memory, with pieces displayed in multiple museums nationwide, including the Brooklyn Museum of Art.
Holmes' daughter, Suri Cruise, is also pursuing artistic endeavors. The 20-year-old, whom Holmes shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise, joined the cast of Midsummer! in July. The production offers a contemporary interpretation of William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Page Six reported at the time that Suri, a Carnegie Mellon University student, will perform alongside classmates at the Trust Arts Education Center's Peirce Studio in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Holmes continues her own creative work, recently reuniting with former Dawson's Creek costar Joshua Jackson to film Happy Hours, a romantic comedy trilogy that Holmes wrote and directed.
