Katy Perry and her former partner Orlando Bloom may be compelled to testify in a long-running real estate dispute, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. The filings, reported on October 15, 2026, indicate that businessman Carl Westcott is asking a judge for permission to subpoena the two celebrities as part of his effort to collect money he says he is still owed.
The dispute traces back to Westcott's earlier lawsuit against Perry's business manager, Bernie Gudvi, through which he sought to undo the sale of a $15 million home in Santa Barbara. Westcott lost that case and was ordered to hand over the keys to Perry. In turn, Perry was directed to pay the outstanding balance on the purchase, a figure that came to approximately $4 million.
In the new court documents, Westcott states that Perry wired him $900,000 in June but has not forwarded the rest of the balance. He is now seeking authorization to subpoena Perry and Bloom, which would allow him to question them under oath about the funds he claims remain unpaid.
Gudvi opposed the request, arguing that no emergency exists that would justify the subpoenas. According to Gudvi, the money cannot be released to Westcott until a separate appeal is resolved — one concerning $3 million that Westcott allegedly owes to Gudvi. Gudvi further characterized the subpoena request as an attempt to harass Perry and Bloom. A judge has not yet issued a ruling on the matter.
Perry and Bloom were romantically involved from 2016 until their split in 2025. They are the parents of a 6-year-old daughter named Daisy.
