Kelce Purchases $5.3M Lakefront Estate in Cleveland Area

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce closed on a luxurious lakefront estate in the Cleveland area on March 2, paying $5.35 million for the historic Bratenahl property, according to TMZ. The purchase occurred several months ahead of his July 4 wedding to pop superstar Taylor Swift, which took place at Madison Square Garden.

Kelce completed the transaction as the sole buyer of the mansion, which occupies 3.5 acres along Lake Erie. The estate combines historic architectural elements with contemporary amenities across eight bedrooms and eleven bathrooms.

Real estate agents David Ayers and Nick Zawitz, who represented The Agency Cleveland in the sale, expressed enthusiasm about the transaction. The agents said they were "thrilled for the new owners and so excited for Cleveland," according to TMZ. They characterized the Bratenahl property as a remarkable estate that blends Gilded Age elegance with modern luxury features.

The mansion encompasses more than 21,000 square feet of interior space. Prior to the sale, the residence underwent an extensive twelve-month renovation that preserved or replaced nearly every historic detail throughout the home. Restoration work included the preservation of authentic door hardware, elaborate carvings crafted from walnut and oak, leaded windows featuring cut glass, and numerous fireplaces distributed across the property.

Entertainment spaces occupy the third floor and lower level of the estate. The original ballroom now houses a game room and home theater. The basement level features a dedicated billiards area, space for poker games, a bar, a climate-controlled wine cellar with an adjoining tasting room, a fitness facility, and a sauna.

The outdoor amenities include a stone terrace that connects to a bluestone patio area. A heated swimming pool overlooks the lake, providing waterfront views from the property.

This marks the second major real estate acquisition for Kelce in recent years. In 2023, he purchased a gated mansion in Kansas City for just under $6 million, upgrading his primary residence in the city where he plays professional football.

The Ohio property provides Kelce with a substantial presence in the Cleveland area, located along one of the Great Lakes' most prestigious residential corridors. Bratenahl, a small village surrounded by Cleveland, is known for its exclusive lakefront estates and proximity to downtown Cleveland.
