The Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of Ken Urker, the former fiancé of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, after deputies were dispatched to a residence in Raceland, Louisiana, on Thursday night. Captain Brennan Matherne of the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office told TMZ that detectives have not uncovered any evidence of foul play at this stage, but the inquiry remains open and nothing has been excluded.
According to TMZ, the sheriff's office launched a death investigation after responding to an emergency call at the home, where officers discovered Ken deceased. The case remains active, and an autopsy is scheduled for later today, which authorities expect will clarify the cause and manner of death.
Blanchard said in a statement that she believes Ken died of an overdose, citing an unknown substance that was allegedly found at the scene. She also stated that Ken did not struggle with drug issues, describing him as a responsible individual who was devoted to his role as a father and partner.
Ken and Gypsy became engaged while she was incarcerated for her involvement in the plot to kill her mother, Dee Dee. The relationship later ended, and Gypsy married Ryan Anderson; the two separated not long after her release from prison, after which she and Ken rekindled their relationship.
The couple shared a daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, who was born in December 2024. The death investigation in Raceland continues as officials await autopsy results and additional findings.
