The woman whose name became synonymous with Kevin Hart's 2017 sex tape scandal may soon find herself answering questions under oath in a separate legal fight involving the comedian. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Hart's former assistant, Miesha Shakes, is seeking to have Montia Sabbag appear as a witness in her ongoing case against the entertainer.
Shakes reportedly intends to question Sabbag about the circumstances surrounding the tape and the subsequent inquiry that authorities conducted, per TMZ. The request signals that Shakes views the 2017 episode as central to her defense strategy.
Sabbag previously pursued her own legal action against Hart, filing a $60 million lawsuit in 2019 in which she alleged that he recorded their sexual encounter without obtaining her permission. Hart contested every claim of misconduct, and the matter was ultimately thrown out of court.
The current litigation centers on a non-disclosure agreement between Hart and Shakes. Hart filed suit against Shakes, asserting that she violated the confidentiality contract by discussing details of his private life during an interview with a blogger. Shakes has countered that Hart himself failed to honor certain terms of the agreement, and she maintains that the contract should be declared invalid.
Hart contends that Shakes harmed his public image by disclosing information about his personal affairs. Shakes, for her part, argues that Hart is responsible for his own reputational damage over the years, citing the sex tape scandal as a prime illustration, according to TMZ.
Beyond calling Sabbag, Shakes has indicated she will testify herself and also plans to summon Hart to the stand. The case remains active, with no resolution announced as of Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
