Chris Matthews, the viral basketball shooting coach known as Lethal Shooter, has trained a long list of celebrities and professional athletes. Now, he is aiming to add former President Barack Obama to that roster.
Matthews appeared on the TMZ Sports set this week, where he shared a wish list of clients he has not yet worked with. The list includes several high-profile names from entertainment and sports.
"Mike Tyson. Samuel L. Jackson. You ready for the next one?" Matthews asked Babcock, according to TMZ.com.
He then mentioned Stevie Wonder, expressing confidence in the musician's potential on the court. "Stevie Wonder. Trust me, bro. He can make a jump shot. If somebody can play the piano, if somebody can listen and hear the melody, if I'm in front of him, can Stevie Wonder knock down a jump shot?" Matthews said, as reported by TMZ.com.
Matthews also named Barack Obama and Oprah Winfrey, before adding one more A-lister: "Denzel."
These aspirations are not entirely far-fetched. Matthews has previously worked with stars such as Justin Bieber and Michael B. Jordan. He has also coached NBA players, including Jaylen Brown and Anthony Davis.
Matthews's message to the former president was simple: let's hoop, Mr. President.
