Mangione Supporter Amplifies Comments Justifying CEO Killing

Following Luigi Mangione's guilty plea on Friday, a supporter who documented his legal proceedings through social media has drawn attention for promoting comments that justify the killing of Brian Thompson, the UnitedHealthcare executive whose death sparked national controversy.

Lena Weissbrot, who identifies as part of a trio of Mangione supporters calling themselves the "Mangionistas," posted a video compilation highlighting social media reactions to the case. The group has consistently expressed support for Mangione throughout the past year and reportedly obtained press credentials from New York City to attend a pretrial hearing.

"Oh the comment section does not disappoint on this reel!! A plurality of people feel exactly like I do," Weissbrot wrote, according to TMZ.com, which reviewed the social media post.

The comments Weissbrot amplified expressed harsh criticism of Thompson, with users arguing his death was warranted due to his role at UnitedHealthcare. Several commenters dismissed the grief of Thompson's family members, who attended court proceedings on Friday, claiming the insurance company had caused suffering to other families.

During Friday's court appearance, Mangione entered guilty pleas to two federal stalking charges and publicly acknowledged killing Thompson. The admission came without a negotiated plea agreement, leaving his fate entirely in the hands of the court.

Federal sentencing guidelines suggest a prison term ranging from 24 to 30 years for the charges. The presiding judge has indicated Mangione must serve a minimum of 85 percent of whatever sentence is imposed, meaning substantial prison time appears inevitable.

Mangione's legal team has argued in court filings that prosecutors at both the state and federal levels are exploiting their client for political purposes. The case has generated intense public debate, with some viewing Mangione as a symbol of frustration with the healthcare industry while others condemn the violence and its glorification.

The social media activity by Weissbrot and other supporters underscores the polarized response to the case, which has evolved from a criminal investigation into a broader cultural flashpoint regarding healthcare access, corporate accountability, and the boundaries of public discourse surrounding violence.
