Max Ehrich, the actor and singer known nationally as Demi Lovato's former fiancé, was cited by Florida law enforcement on September 30 after officers alleged he drove his 2020 white BMW the wrong way down a divided highway in Port St. Lucie, according to TMZ.com. The citation was issued shortly after 9 a.m., the outlet reported.
The traffic violation marks the third known run-in with Florida authorities for Ehrich in roughly a year. TMZ.com reported that he was arrested on August 25 for possession of nitrous oxide in the state, and that he was previously arrested for domestic violence in October 2025, also in Florida.
Following the domestic violence arrest, Ehrich stated publicly that he intended to enter rehabilitation, according to TMZ.com. The outlet reported that it reached out to Ehrich for comment on the September 30 citation and had not received a response as of publication.
Ehrich's connection to Lovato dates to 2020, when the two became engaged after a few months of dating. The engagement lasted approximately two months before the pair separated in September 2020, TMZ.com reported.
For Port St. Lucie residents, the citation adds to a pattern of traffic and criminal matters involving a figure with a national profile. Wrong-way driving on divided highways is treated as a serious infraction in Florida because of the elevated risk of head-on collisions, though the citation itself does not indicate any crash occurred.
