Meghan Markle Dines With Malala Yousafzai in London

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, spent Wednesday evening, October 7, at Claridge's in London, where she was seen having dinner with activist Malala Yousafzai. A TikTok video posted by another patron at the restaurant captured the two women in conversation in the background of the clip, as reported by Celebrity News: Latest Celeb News & Pictures - Us Weekly.

The outing marks a rare public appearance for Markle, 45, since she and Prince Harry, 42, relocated their family from Montecito, California, to the United Kingdom in late August. The move was timed to coincide with the beginning of the British school year, and the couple's children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, are now enrolled in a U.K. school for the first time.

Yousafzai, 29, is a Nobel Peace Prize laureate known for her advocacy of girls' education. She interviewed Markle and Prince Harry in October 2020 for Day of the Girl, a conversation conducted over Zoom during the COVID-19 pandemic. During that discussion, the couple described how lockdown allowed them to witness key moments in their son's early life.

"We were both there for his first steps," Prince Harry told Celebrity News: Latest Celeb News & Pictures - Us Weekly of Archie, now 7. "His first run, his first fall, his first everything."

Markle added to the same publication: "And it's just fantastic, because I think in so many ways we are fortunate to be able to have this time to watch him grow, and in the absence of COVID, we would be traveling and working more externally. And we'd miss a lot of those moments. So it's been a lot of good family time."

The couple stepped back from their roles as senior working members of the royal family in 2020 and subsequently moved to California. Their return to the U.K. this year has drawn attention, with a source telling Celebrity News: Latest Celeb News & Pictures - Us Weekly in August that Prince Harry's mood differs between the two countries.

"Harry is not as happy in the U.S. as he is in the U.K.," the source told Celebrity News: Latest Celeb News & Pictures - Us Weekly.

The source also indicated that the family is considering where to settle, stating they aim to be located outside of London rather than in the city proper, and that they are open to a new chapter.

According to the same source, Prince Harry approaches professional decisions with the mindset of a working royal, and he has observed the paths taken by others who have left the royal family, such as Sarah Ferguson, a route he does not wish to follow. The source added that the couple is seeking partnerships that align with their interests and provide financial viability.

Since their move, Markle and Prince Harry have been seen at the Falkland Arms pub and spending time with friends Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi at The Three Horseshoes pub, both located in the Cotswolds.
