Former "Real Housewives of Potomac" cast member Mia Thornton is confronting a felony charge in Georgia that could result in jail time, according to court documents reviewed by TMZ.com. The Fulton County District Attorney filed a single count of felony theft by taking against Thornton, the outlet reported on Friday, October 9, 2026.
The charging documents allege that Thornton and an associate, Jared McGriff, took furniture and a television valued at no less than $5,000 and no more than $25,000 on October 28, 2025. According to TMZ.com, the alleged removal occurred as the pair were vacating a furnished condominium unit in the middle of the night, roughly two weeks before Thornton was taken into custody.
Thornton was arrested in November 2025 at the Atlanta airport. TMZ.com reported that it obtained video footage of the arrest. The case is now proceeding in Fulton County, where the district attorney's office has elevated the matter to a felony filing.
After her arrest, Thornton addressed the situation on social media, stating that she was working to remain "grounded" amid what she described as "chaos," according to TMZ.com.
Thornton appeared on "Real Housewives of Potomac" from Season 6 through Season 9, a tenure marked by conflicts both on and off camera. The felony charge represents a significant legal escalation for the reality television personality, as a conviction on a felony theft count in Georgia carries the possibility of incarceration.
