Niall Horan used the opening night of his "Dinner Party" tour to pay tribute to his late One Direction bandmate Liam Payne, playing a recording of Payne's voice for the audience in Birmingham, England.
According to TMZ.com, the moment came after Horan performed his song "End Of An Era." The singer then played spoken audio of Payne, whose remarks carried an emotional weight. "We thought something might happen but never anything like this," Payne could be heard saying in the recording.
The audio continued with Payne reflecting on his own journey. "And I always try to remind myself of where I've come from and where I managed to get to in my life. It's amazing really," he said in the clip.
Horan is not the first member of the group to honor Payne onstage. Harry Styles also paid tribute to his former bandmate during a Wembley Stadium concert this summer, which marked the final stop of his run at the venue.
Payne died in 2024 after a fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires.
