With the 2026 midterm elections just days away, voters across the country are turning to local resources to prepare for the Nov. 3 ballot. The NPR network has compiled a state-by-state directory of voter guides and reporting from its member stations, covering everything from key Senate and House races to governor contests and ballot measures on abortion, LGBTQ+ rights, billionaire taxes, and more.
The guides are designed to help voters navigate local races that often receive less attention than national contests. According to the network, member stations are gathering information for voters — from voter guides down to local races — offering resources and news reporting from communities across the country.
The effort comes as election workers have already begun processing ballots in states such as Washington, which uses mail-in voting. Ballot envelopes were being handled at the King County Elections headquarters in Renton, Washington, on October 23, 2026, according to a Getty Images photograph distributed with the network's guide.
