UPPER TOWNSHIP - Ralph Watson, a 64-year-old Ocean View resident, died Friday following a motorcycle crash in Upper Township the day before.
The collision happened just before 4 p.m. Thursday on Route 9 South at Church Road, according to Tpr. II Christopher Postorino of the New Jersey State Police.
Watson was operating a Honda motorcycle with passenger Susan Damore, 64, also of Ocean View, when they approached the intersection traveling southbound. A Jeep SUV had stopped at the intersection and began turning left onto Route 9 North when the motorcycle struck the driver's side of the vehicle, Postorino told Patch.
Both Watson and Damore were transported to a hospital with serious injuries. Watson succumbed to his injuries on Friday, September 4. State Police did not provide an update on Damore's condition.
The driver of the Jeep sustained minor injuries in the crash, according to Postorino.
New Jersey State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. Anyone with information about the crash is encouraged to contact authorities.
