A man died Wednesday evening after jumping from Los Angeles City Hall in what authorities are investigating as an apparent suicide, according to law enforcement officials.
The incident occurred on the Spring Street side of the downtown landmark. Law enforcement sources told TMZ that the individual jumped from either the 25th or 26th floor and landed on the front steps of City Hall.
Emergency responders pronounced the man dead at the scene. The death investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Los Angeles City Hall serves as a central hub for municipal government operations in the city. The building's height and accessibility have made it a location of concern for public safety officials in the past.
Additional details about the incident were not immediately available as the investigation continues.
