MAYS LANDING — A 22-year-old Pleasantville man has been sentenced to five years in state prison after pleading guilty to charges stemming from four separate criminal cases, including fleeing an Atlantic City traffic stop, running from investigators executing a search warrant and later leading police on another chase after abandoning an e-bike.
Khalid Haraksin was sentenced Tuesday by Superior Court Judge Donna M. Taylor, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
The cases date back several years and resulted in guilty pleas to second-degree eluding, third- and fourth-degree resisting arrest and third-degree conspiracy to commit theft.
The most serious incident occurred Nov. 3, 2023, when Atlantic City police conducted a motor vehicle stop.
During the stop, prosecutors said Haraksin put his vehicle into drive and fled onto the Atlantic City Expressway, endangering the officer conducting the stop.
Haraksin pleaded guilty to second-degree eluding and received a five-year prison sentence on that charge.
Less than a year later, on Aug. 9, 2024, detectives from the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office arrived at a home on West Pleasant Avenue in Pleasantville to execute a search warrant.
Prosecutors said Haraksin ran from officers despite receiving multiple commands to stop.
He pleaded guilty to third-degree resisting arrest and received another five-year sentence, which will run concurrently with the eluding sentence.
Authorities encountered Haraksin again Sept. 23, 2025, when Pleasantville police attempted to detain him while he was operating an e-bike.
According to prosecutors, Haraksin fled after seeing the patrol vehicle, abandoned the e-bike and continued running through several backyards.
Police conducted a yard-to-yard search before finding him hiding in a Pleasantville backyard.
Haraksin pleaded guilty to fourth-degree resisting arrest in that case and received an 18-month concurrent sentence.
The fourth case involved a conspiracy that prosecutors said stretched from October 2021 through February 2024.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, Haraksin conspired with others to fraudulently deposit money belonging to other people and businesses in Atlantic County.
Atlantic City police investigated that case.
Haraksin pleaded guilty to third-degree conspiracy to commit theft and received another five-year sentence, also to run concurrently.
Because the sentences are concurrent, Haraksin's overall state prison term is five years, rather than the individual sentences being added together.
He has been held in the Atlantic County Justice Facility since Sept. 23, 2025.
