ATLANTIC CITY — A Pleasantville man has been sentenced to five years in state prison after admitting he possessed a handgun for an unlawful purpose during an incident at an Atlantic City residence.
Marvin Bardales-Sevilla, 31, was sentenced Tuesday by Superior Court Judge Ralph A. Paolone, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
Bardales-Sevilla previously pleaded guilty to second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose.
His five-year prison sentence includes a 42-month period of parole ineligibility.
The case stems from a Dec. 13, 2025, incident in Atlantic City.
Police responded to a residence after receiving a report of an unwanted man inside the home with a firearm, prosecutors said.
When officers arrived, the victim told police that Bardales-Sevilla had pointed a firearm at the victim on previous occasions.
Police arrested Bardales-Sevilla and recovered a handgun nearby.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, Bardales-Sevilla had attempted to conceal the weapon from responding officers.
Assistant Prosecutor Rachel Koutishian represented the state.
