Las Vegas police were observed at the home of comedian Carrot Top on Friday afternoon, following his attempted suicide, according to TMZ. Three police vehicles were photographed parked outside the 61-year-old performer's Las Vegas residence by a witness; the image was obtained by TMZ.
The comedian, whose legal name is Scott Thompson, had been taken to a Las Vegas hospital after the suicide attempt, sources told TMZ. His Friday night performance at the Luxor casino, where he has been a longtime headliner, was called off in the wake of his hospitalization.
Carrot Top's representative, Jami Schlicher, addressed the situation in a statement to TMZ: "Mr. Thompson is recovering in the hospital and is receiving the care and support he needs. His family and those closest to him are deeply grateful for the concern, prayers and respectfully ask for privacy."
