A representative for the Santa Monica Police Department told TMZ.com that the initial 911 call was received at 9:35 AM on Sunday. Officers arrived at the location and found an unresponsive individual, to whom they provided life-saving measures. Gerber was pronounced dead at 9:45 AM.
The investigation into the death is ongoing as a drug overdose case. An autopsy has not yet been completed, according to TMZ.com. Gerber had been residing at the facility alongside several other individuals, and sources indicated to TMZ.com that his family was informed the death appeared to be the result of an overdose.
