The Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles moved quickly to arrange a medical examination for center Cam Jurgens in Philadelphia as the two clubs worked toward a trade that would send him to Baltimore, league sources told ESPN.
According to ESPN reporter Adam Schefter, the physical was scheduled at the Eagles' facility before any deal could be completed, a standard step in NFL transactions that allows the acquiring team to evaluate a player's health before committing to the terms.
The arrangement placed Jurgens in Philadelphia for the examination while negotiations between the Ravens and Eagles continued. The sources, who spoke to ESPN on condition of anonymity, indicated that the two sides made immediate plans for the physical once it became clear a trade was likely.
For local readers in the Philadelphia region, the development carries particular significance. Jurgens has been a fixture on the Eagles' offensive line, and his potential departure would mark a notable change to the roster. The Eagles' facility served as the setting for the medical review, underscoring how quickly the transaction progressed.
The Ravens, meanwhile, would gain a center with starting experience should the trade be finalized. Baltimore's interest in Jurgens reflects a broader effort to strengthen its offensive front.
As of the sources' accounts to ESPN, the physical represented a key checkpoint before the deal could be formally agreed upon. No further terms or a completion timeline were disclosed in the report.
