Reality television personality Khadijah Haqq-McCray has filed for child and spousal support from her estranged husband, former NFL defensive end Bobby McCray, more than two years following their separation.
Court documents obtained by Us Weekly on Monday, August 24, show that Haqq-McCray, 43, is requesting child support payments and $100,000 to cover attorney's fees. The filing establishes July 17, 2023, as the official separation date, while McCray initiated divorce proceedings on August 16, 2024.
The star of The Girls outlined her current financial situation in the court documents, stating she earned $150,000 from a reality series filmed in April. However, she claims to have relied heavily on loans from friends and family to manage living expenses since the separation.
According to the filing, Haqq-McCray's income during the marriage came primarily from McCray's NFL earnings. The documents describe a comfortable lifestyle that included annual domestic and international vacations with their three children: Christian Louis, Celine Amelia, and Kapri Naomi. The family consistently resided in single-family homes, maintained at least two vehicles including luxury SUVs such as GMC Yukon, Denali, or Range Rover models, and sent all three children to private schools.
The court documents detail additional aspects of their marital standard of living, including frequent restaurant meals, multiple takeout orders per week, and the ability to purchase desired gifts for the children without significant cost concerns. The family also invested substantially in extracurricular activities, including gymnastics, football, soccer, and tutoring services.
Haqq-McCray reported earning just over $70,000 in 2025 and approximately $86,000 thus far in 2026. Her recent work includes a consulting position for Below Deck, which paid $7,500 over 19 weeks, two appearances for Raising Canes totaling $25,000, and a six-month marketing and social media promotion contract with a cookie dough company paying $5,000 per month. She covered her own expenses for hair, makeup, photography, videography, wardrobe, and baking supplies for these projects.
The filing emphasizes that Haqq-McCray stepped away from her career during the marriage to serve as a full-time stay-at-home mother, ceasing work before the birth of their eldest child. She states in the documents that she has been primarily responsible for childcare throughout the marriage and following separation, handling school and camp transportation, medical appointments, and extracurricular activities.
The court documents also claim that McCray is inconsistently present in California and rarely requests time with the children, limiting her ability to pursue additional employment opportunities. Haqq-McCray further alleges she served as McCray's caretaker during his NFL career, attending doctor's appointments and assisting with recovery following hip surgeries.
Haqq-McCray lists her monthly living expenses at approximately $13,892.29, including $4,512 for rent, at least $680 for utilities, at least $1,900 for groceries, and $400 for dining out. She reports having $11,493.59 in her savings account and states she received approximately $8,000 from her sister in 2025 to cover living expenses, which she intends to repay.
According to the filing, McCray receives approximately $3,044 per month in disability payments, $11,250 per month in NFL disability, and $2,829 per month in NFL annuity. His monthly expenses are cited as $9,854. The documents claim McCray possesses an NFL 401k valued at over $765,000 and NFL annuities valued at over $120,000 and $69,000.
Haqq-McCray also alleges that McCray has blocked her from communication over the past two weeks, preventing text message delivery while confirming he receives messages from their daughter and mutual friends.
