Sean "Diddy" Combs will leave federal custody on February 6, 2028, according to the federal Bureau of Prisons, a date more than three weeks earlier than the March 2, 2028 projection reported last month. TMZ first reported the updated schedule on Monday, November 2, 2026.
The release date has been a moving target for months. The Bureau of Prisons has at various points listed January 21, February 5, and February 20 as projected walk-out dates, in addition to the March 2 figure that was in place last month. The newest date, February 6, 2028, represents the most recent adjustment.
The shift follows Combs' transfer to FCI Allenwood in Pennsylvania after a stint at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, where he encountered disciplinary trouble. While housed at Fort Dix, Combs was placed in solitary confinement for allegedly breaking prison rules, including involvement in fights and possession of contraband cellphones.
NBC News also reported that Combs received preferential treatment at Fort Dix, with other inmates reportedly paid to perform personal services for him, including preparing his meals, providing massages, and handling his chores.
The Bureau of Prisons' projected release dates are calculated based on sentence length and good-conduct credits, and they can change as those credits are applied or adjusted. The recent series of revisions reflects that process.
Combs' incarceration stems from a 2025 trial in which a jury convicted him on two counts of the Mann Act, which prohibits transporting people across state lines for prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking. A judge subsequently sentenced him to 50 months in federal prison on the Mann Act counts.
The case has drawn sustained attention in New Jersey, where Combs was held at Fort Dix before his transfer to Pennsylvania. The Bureau of Prisons has not issued a public statement on the specific reasons for the latest release-date adjustment.
