A film project tied to Ben Shapiro's The Daily Wire is drawing attention after set footage surfaced showing a sequence that closely tracks the January fatal shooting of Renee Good by a federal immigration agent in Minneapolis. Video obtained by TMZ.com captures the production at work in Livingston, Montana, where the scene was being filmed.
According to production sources who spoke with TMZ.com, the script never uses Renee's name. Even so, the sequence bears a strong resemblance to the events surrounding her death, when she was shot four times inside her SUV by federal immigration agents in Minneapolis.
The footage shows a Toyota striking an ICE van, then reversing before two rounds are fired through the windshield. One bullet hits the woman in the neck and the other strikes her head, after which the SUV runs into the curb. Protesters could be heard while the scene was being shot, and the Shapiro-linked production has continued to face criticism over its focus on ICE-related subject matter.
The real-world incident drew outrage across the country after ICE agent Jonathan Ross shot and killed 37-year-old Renee on a residential street in Minneapolis as she attempted to drive away. The film, which currently carries the title "Pawn Shop," centers on ICE, protests, and gang violence.
