SHOWBOAT RESORT NAMES MARITZA MARTINEZ GENERAL MANAGER
Longtime Finance Executive and Stockton University Graduate Promoted to Lead Atlantic City's Premier Family Resort

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (August 11, 2026) — Showboat Resort has announced the promotion of Maritza Martinez to General Manager of the iconic Atlantic City beachfront destination. Ms. Martinez assumes the role after serving more than a decade as the resort's Director of Finance & Accounting, where she played an integral role in the property's transformation into Atlantic City's premier year-round family resort.

A graduate of Stockton University and a respected hospitality executive with more than 36-years of Finance & Accounting experience, she started at the Taj Mahal as a Cage Cashier when they opened in 1990 and rose to Senior Accountant,  remaining until the casino closed in 2016.   Ms. Martinez joined the Showboat in June 2016 as Director of Finance & Accounting, shortly after owner Bart Blatstein acquired the historic Boardwalk property. Throughout her tenure, she has overseen the resort's financial operations while helping guide its steady evolution into New Jersey's largest non-casino hotel and one of the region's most innovative entertainment destinations.

"Maritza has been one of the driving forces behind Showboat's incredible transformation over the past decade," said Bart Blatstein, CEO of Tower Investments and owner of Showboat Resort. "She knows this property inside and out, understands our vision for Atlantic City, and has earned the respect of every member of our team. Promoting someone who has dedicated more than ten years to this resort is especially rewarding because Maritza represents the leadership, loyalty and commitment that continue to make Showboat one of Atlantic City's greatest success stories. I have every confidence she will continue building on the momentum we've created."

Since stepping into the General Manager role, Ms. Martinez has overseen one of the most ambitious expansion periods in Showboat's recent history. Under her leadership, the resort has unveiled sweeping new attractions and guest amenities this summer, including opening two floors of newly renovated guest rooms in the New Orleans Tower featuring modern designs and furnishings, fully refurbished bathrooms and enhanced in-room electronics. Ms. Martinez has also overseen the expansion of Island Waterpark’s adult amenity area, created more fun for all ages at Lucky Snake arcade with the new Kidz Club and Strike Zone Arena, and debuted two new food and beverage concepts, Éclair and Blissful Bubbles. These investments further strengthen Showboat's position as Atlantic City's only year-round family resort.

"It is an incredible honor to lead a property that has become such an important part of Atlantic City's resurgence," said Martinez. "Having spent the past ten years helping shape Showboat's growth, I'm excited to work alongside our exceptional team as we continue creating unforgettable experiences for families, visitors and our local community. The future of Showboat has never been brighter."

Maritza Martinez is also believed to be the first Hispanic woman to serve as a General Manager at an Atlantic City resort hotel.

“I am excited about the opportunity to work with Maritza in her role as General Manager,” said Brandon Dixon, President of Tower Investments and of Showboat Resort.  “Her loyalty, dedication, and hard work clearly demonstrate why she is the best person for the position. I look forward to collaborating with her and achieving great results together.”

Since purchasing the property in 2016, Tower Investments has invested hundreds of millions of dollars reimagining the former casino into a one-of-a-kind destination featuring the massive beachfront Island Waterpark, Lucky Snake—the world's largest arcade—indoor and outdoor entertainment venues, restaurants, event spaces and family-focused attractions that draw visitors year-round.

As General Manager, Martinez will oversee all day-to-day resort operations while continuing to execute the property's long-term strategic vision, drive operational excellence, and support continued growth across hospitality, entertainment and guest experiences.
