A former reality television contestant is at the center of a multi-state search after she allegedly disappeared with her teenage son, according to authorities and court records described in news reports.
Jaime Dugan, who competed on the CBS series "Survivor: China," has not been seen with her 16-year-old son, Harper Huffman, since she failed to return the boy to his father following a weekend visit on Aug. 30, according to TMZ.com, which cited a Daily Mail report.
The case escalated in South Carolina courts, where a judge held Dugan in contempt, issued an order for her immediate arrest and formally declared Harper "missing and endangered." The same ruling suspended Dugan's visitation rights and awarded sole custody of the teenager to his father, Erik Huffman.
During an emergency court hearing in September, Dugan participated remotely but would not disclose her location or the whereabouts of her son, according to the report. The judge then directed her to appear in person with Harper within days. Neither of them showed up.
Erik Huffman has said he is deeply concerned for his son's safety and has been working around the clock with law enforcement to locate the teenager, according to TMZ.com.
The relationship between Jaime Dugan and Erik Huffman began on the set of "Survivor: China" in 2007. The couple later married and divorced in 2024. Under the terms of that divorce, Erik Huffman received custody of Harper, while Dugan was granted visitation every other weekend.
Court documents also address prior allegations of abuse that Dugan had leveled against Erik Huffman and Harper's paternal grandmother. The court determined those claims were unfounded. Erik Huffman has denied the allegations.
Authorities have not released additional details about the search. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Jaime Dugan or Harper Huffman is urged to contact local law enforcement.
