WILDWOOD — The Wildwoods will send summer out with a day of free live music, food and family activities Sunday as the annual End of Summer Block Party returns to Fox Park.
The free festival will run from 1 to 10 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, at Fox Park on Ocean Avenue, directly across from the Wildwoods Convention Center.
The event will feature nearly nine hours of entertainment along with children's activities, face painting, sand art, henna tattoos, food vendors and craft vendors.
The entertainment schedule begins with a DJ from 1 to 3 p.m., followed by Richie Santa as Elvis from 3 to 4 p.m.
Chicago 9 will perform from 4 to 5:30 p.m., followed by Midnight Rock Show from 5:45 to 7:15 p.m. and Stevie Mac from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
Tavares will close the festival with a performance from 9:15 to 10 p.m.
The Grammy-winning group is known for a string of hits from the 1970s disco and R&B era, including "Heaven Must Be Missing an Angel" and "More Than a Woman."
Admission to the block party and music festival is free.
Organizers say bicycles, dogs and coolers will not be permitted inside the event.
The End of Summer Block Party is part of a busy Labor Day weekend in the Wildwoods and serves as one of the resort's traditional celebrations marking the unofficial conclusion of the summer tourism season.
