$5 Bus Rides to Jersey Shore This Summer

Getting to the Jersey Shore just got a whole lot cheaper—and more fun. A shuttle service is offering round-trip rides from Philadelphia to popular beach destinations for only $5, turning the journey itself into part of the summer adventure.

The Jitney Yellow Line by Pacifico has returned this summer with an unbeatable deal: bus transportation to Wildwood and Cape May at a price that barely covers a highway toll. But the low fare is just the beginning—organizers are creating a party atmosphere that starts before passengers even board.

"Five dollars is basically what a toll costs, anyway," Riley Gilbert from ModOp told 6abc Philadelphia. "It's a bang for your buck, but also part of the premise of it isn't just getting people to the shore; it's having fun while doing so. Even if you are sitting in traffic, it's a party on the bus. We also have happy hour hangs before departure. The bus is a full party. When you get to the Jersey Shore, you could do another post-hang at that location."

The service offers flexibility for beachgoers, with both weekend getaways and day-trip options available. Travelers can customize their experience by selecting different pickup and drop-off times based on how long they want to stay at the shore.

This weekend—Friday, July 24 through Sunday, July 26—the shuttle runs to and from North Wildwood. The following weekend, July 31 through August 2, the destination shifts to Cape May.

Every passenger receives an "Adventure Kit" packed with beach essentials: a beach towel, sunscreen, and a life jacket-shaped beer koozie that adds to the playful vibe of the experience.
