ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (July 30, 2026) – Atlantic City's newest class of scholarship recipients was recognized during a special celebration at Steel Pier on Wednesday night as Mayor Marty Small, Sr. and his Scholarship Committee honored students preparing for the next chapter of their educational journeys.

The event celebrated the 58 recipients of the 2026 Mayor Marty Small, Sr. Scholarship, which awarded scholarships to graduating high school seniors beginning college as well as Atlantic City residents pursuing trade school, master's, and doctoral programs.

Recipients in attendance received commemorative oversized scholarship checks and enjoyed a sendoff before the start of the upcoming academic year. The evening served as both a celebration of their achievements and a recognition of the hard work and dedication that earned them this honor.

The Mayor Marty Small, Sr. Scholarship provides financial assistance to Atlantic City residents pursuing higher education and career training, helping remove financial barriers while encouraging academic excellence. Since its inception, more than $3.5 Million in scholarships have been awarded to Atlantic City residents. Scholarships are funded through the Addressing Educational Disparities category of the American Rescue Plan (ARP), reflecting the city's continued commitment to expanding educational opportunities and investing in the future of its residents. This year, additional funding was secured through the City of Atlantic City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) office.
