AtlantiCare Earns ‘Great Place To Work’ Certification for Third Straight Year

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP — AtlantiCare has been certified as a Great Place To Work for the third consecutive year, an honor based on feedback from employees about their workplace experience.

The South Jersey health system announced the certification Monday, saying the recognition reflects feedback from its nearly 7,000 employees.

“Three consecutive years of Great Place To Work certification speaks to the strength of our culture and the nearly 7,000 team members who make AtlantiCare what it is,” AtlantiCare President and CEO Michael Charlton said.

Charlton said the recognition comes during a period of significant change and expansion for the health system.

“Healthcare is one of the most demanding professions, and our team continues to show tremendous resilience, compassion and commitment through an extraordinary period of progress for AtlantiCare,” Charlton said. “I am proud of the confidence they continue to place in this organization and even more proud of what we are accomplishing together.”

The certification follows a year in which AtlantiCare opened a new 60-bed rehabilitation hospital in partnership with Select Medical and completed its Joint Commission survey.

AtlantiCare has also been moving forward with plans to establish a four-year medical school in Atlantic City through an agreement with Temple University's Lewis Katz School of Medicine.

The health system has expanded its partnership with Stockton University as well, with a focus on health education and developing additional pathways into the health care workforce in South Jersey.

Those initiatives are part of AtlantiCare's Vision 2030 strategy, which includes investments in health care services, technology, education and workforce development.

Great Place To Work bases its certification on employee feedback about workplace culture and experience.

Lewis-Kulin said the certification is based on feedback provided by employees about their company's culture.

Great Place To Work describes itself as a global organization that researches workplace culture, employee experience and leadership.

For AtlantiCare, Charlton said receiving the certification for a third consecutive year reflects the role employees are playing as the health system continues to expand.
