Ben Crump, the prominent civil rights attorney working with the Wells family, spoke to reporters in New York City on Thursday and dismissed the legal maneuvering as an attempt to divert attention from the core investigation. Crump emphasized that the family remains focused solely on uncovering the circumstances surrounding Nolan Wells' death.

Warren Hudson, Jax Pitalo, and Morgan Seymour have retained Attorney J. Tyler Cox and defamation specialist Edward Andrew Paltzik to represent their interests. Paltzik has previously defended Donald Trump in high-stakes litigation against major media organizations, including CBS/Paramount, The New York Times, and BBC.

According to Crump, the selection of such prominent legal counsel represents nothing more than background noise in what should remain a straightforward pursuit of facts. The attorney indicated that neither he nor the Wells family would be distracted by the involvement of attorneys with national profiles.

The legal team representing Hudson, Pitalo, and Seymour has announced plans to visit Horn Island on Friday to examine the location where Nolan Wells disappeared and where his body was subsequently discovered. Cox and Paltzik have stated their own interest in determining what transpired during the incident.

The case continues to draw significant attention as multiple parties work to establish a timeline and explanation for the events that led to Wells' death.
