Body camera footage from the May arrest of Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs has been made public, showing officers taking the NFL player into custody on battery charges. The video, obtained by TMZ, was published on October 31, 2026, and offers a first-hand view of the encounter that led to misdemeanor charges.
In the footage, Jacobs is seen stepping out of a vehicle in which he was a passenger before an officer instructs him to turn around. He is then handcuffed and patted down by police near their squad car. At one point during the clip, Jacobs tells the officers that his attorneys have his phone, explaining that his legal team intended for him to turn himself in. After Jacobs is placed in the squad car, officers speak with the driver of the vehicle and thank him for pulling over.
The arrest stemmed from allegations made by Jacobs' then-girlfriend, who accused him of grabbing her and throwing her to the ground, causing an injury to her head. According to the account, she had looked through his phone and discovered he had been communicating with other women, after which she threw the phone. Jacobs denied the claims at the time.
Last month, Jacobs entered a plea of no contest to misdemeanor charges of battery and criminal damage to property. During the hearing, he addressed the court, saying, "I fully understand the seriousness of the situation, and I take full responsibility." The statement was made in open court and does not carry a media attribution.
As part of his sentence, Jacobs was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine. The court also directed him to have no contact with his accuser, to pay her restitution, and to attend counseling. The case has drawn attention given Jacobs' profile as a star player for the Packers, though the legal proceedings are now concluded with the plea and sentencing.
