Our community's connection to one of Atlantic City's most recognizable casino brands is about to get a significant digital upgrade. Borgata Online, which made history as New Jersey's first legal online casino back in 2013, is launching a completely revamped platform this Thursday, July 3.
The overhaul represents a major investment by BetMGM, the parent company behind Borgata Online, to strengthen the integration between the beloved Marina District resort and its digital gaming operations. Players in New Jersey and Pennsylvania will find a redesigned interface, streamlined navigation, and an expanded game library featuring more than 4,000 casino titles and live dealer options.
"Borgata wrote the first chapter of legal online gambling in 2013 and now we are writing the next one," said Matt Prevost, chief revenue officer at BetMGM. "Borgata players are some of our most engaged and loyal customers, so we wanted to ensure their experience reflects the exceptional quality that has become synonymous with the Borgata name."
The refresh comes as Borgata Online maintains its position as a major player in New Jersey's competitive online gaming market. Through May of this year, the platform generated $108 million in revenue, making it the state's fourth-largest iGaming operator with an 8.1% market share. That puts Borgata Online behind only FanDuel, DraftKings, and BetMGM's main platform in a market that now includes 28 licensed operators.
The new platform will feature 250 exclusive game titles, including popular slots like Borgata Gem Strike and Borgata 777 Respin Deluxe. The latter is a sequel to Borgata 777 Respin, which has ranked among the platform's top-performing games for more than five years—a testament to player loyalty that the company is clearly banking on as it rolls out these enhancements.
A key component of the relaunch is a new rewards hub that consolidates promotions and gives players full visibility into their earned status and benefits. This move aims to create a more seamless experience between online play and visits to the physical Borgata Atlantic City resort, which has long been the city's top-performing casino in both revenue and profitability.
"Borgata provides a seamless connection to online and in-person experiences and exemplifies what a legal, regulated online casino can achieve," Prevost added. "This latest product investment underscores how seriously we take our responsibility to players, regulators, and all who have made Borgata Online what it is today."
While Borgata Online's casino operations have thrived, its sportsbook component represents a smaller piece of the business. The platform kept approximately $3.3 million from sports bettors through May, ranking 10th among New Jersey's 16 online sportsbooks—a market dominated by FanDuel and DraftKings.
The timing of the relaunch is particularly notable as it comes just ahead of the Borgata Atlantic City resort's third anniversary. The Marina District property, which opened on July 2, 2023, was originally a joint venture between MGM Resorts International and Boyd Gaming before MGM acquired full ownership in 2016 for $900 million.
For our community's online gaming enthusiasts, the refresh represents more than just a technical upgrade—it's a signal that one of Atlantic City's flagship brands is doubling down on its digital future while maintaining the quality and reputation that have made Borgata synonymous with premium gaming in our region.
