ATLANTIC CITY - Fans planning to see Collective Soul this weekend at Ocean Casino Resort will need to wait a bit longer. The rock band's Saturday night show has been postponed due to illness within the group.
The performance originally scheduled for Saturday, August 29 at Ovation Hall will be rescheduled to a new date that has yet to be determined, according to an announcement from the casino. The venue assured concertgoers that all tickets purchased for the original date will remain valid for the rescheduled show.
"Due to an illness in the band, the Collective Soul show on Saturday, August 29 is being postponed," the casino said in a statement, adding that a "new date will be announced soon."
"All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled performance. Please hold on to your tickets and stay tuned for additional details," the casino stated.
The concert was set to begin at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m. Special guests The Summit were also scheduled to perform.
Collective Soul rose to prominence in 1993 with their breakout hit "Shine," which became a defining song of the alternative rock era. The band continued their success with memorable tracks including "December," "The World I Know," and "Where the River Flows."
The Georgia-based rock group has maintained a loyal following over three decades, regularly touring and delivering energetic live performances. Their appearance at Ocean Casino was highly anticipated by local fans eager to hear their catalog of hits.
Ocean Casino Resort has not yet provided a timeline for when the rescheduled date will be announced. Ticket holders are encouraged to monitor the venue's official channels for updates.
