Fiancé Establishes Foundation Honoring Late Ashly Robinson

Joe McCann has begun the process of establishing a foundation in honor of his late fiancée Ashly Robinson, who was known professionally as Ashlee Jenae. The investment firm CEO announced his plans to create a 501c3 nonprofit organization focused on preventing self-harm and providing support to individuals experiencing thoughts of self-harm.

Robinson tragically took her own life during the couple's April getaway to Zanzibar. Her death was officially ruled a suicide, a determination that McCann said brought both renewed pain and a sense of purpose.

"When the official findings were announced, I felt a deep sense of renewed pain, but also purpose," McCann told TMZ. The announcement comes as McCann channels his grief into action aimed at helping others facing similar struggles.

McCann emphasized the importance of preserving Robinson's memory and ensuring her story serves a greater purpose. "Ashly's story needs to be told so we can honor and cherish what she brought to this world," he told TMZ. "Her death will not be in vain, and her legacy will be preserved."

The foundation represents McCann's effort to address what he described as Robinson's "deep mental anguish." He expressed regret at being unable to alleviate her suffering, stating to TMZ, "I wish I could have brought her over from the darkness into the light."

McCann described Robinson as his best friend and soulmate, noting her sweet and gentle spirit. He expressed confidence that her legacy will have an impact "for years to come" through the foundation's work.

Additional details about the foundation will be provided at a later date when McCann makes an official announcement. The organization will operate as a 501c3 nonprofit, allowing it to accept tax-deductible donations to support its suicide prevention and mental health initiatives.
