Jeana Keough Faces Setback in Tongue Cancer Treatment

Jeana Keough, a former cast member of The Real Housewives of Orange County, has encountered serious complications in her ongoing battle with tongue cancer, according to an update shared by her daughter on Tuesday.

Kara Keough revealed that her mother has been unable to consume any food for two weeks and was scheduled to receive a feeding tube inserted directly into her stomach to provide essential nutrition. However, medical professionals discovered critical health issues that forced them to cancel the procedure.

Physicians identified a deep vein thrombosis clot in Jeana's leg alongside an active infection. The presence of infection prevents doctors from safely placing the feeding tube until the condition improves. As a result, both chemotherapy and radiation treatments have been temporarily suspended.

Kara described her mother as "extremely depleted" following the extended period without proper nutrition. Despite the challenging circumstances, she noted that Jeana has maintained her characteristic humor, joking that she only had a "fake fever" and insisting she was ready to proceed with the surgery.

The daughter requested prayers from followers, hoping the infection would resolve quickly so the feeding tube placement could proceed and cancer treatment could resume.

Jeana's cancer diagnosis was made public over the weekend. The reality television personality was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue after spending months believing a painful area in her mouth resulted from a tooth irritating the tissue.

She has already undergone surgical procedures to remove the cancerous tissue and affected lymph nodes. However, medical examinations later revealed the cancer had metastasized, necessitating chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

The recent medical complications represent another obstacle in what has become an increasingly difficult health crisis for the former Bravo personality. The timeline for resuming treatment remains uncertain as doctors work to address the infection and blood clot before proceeding with the feeding tube installation.
