JPMorgan Executive Files Defamation Counterclaim in Harassment Case

A senior executive at JPMorgan Chase has launched a legal counteroffensive against sexual harassment allegations, filing claims of defamation and libel against her accuser in a case that has drawn significant public attention.

Lorna Hajdini, the JPMorgan executive at the center of the controversy, filed the counterclaim asserting that her accuser is conducting a deliberate smear campaign against her. According to court documents, Hajdini contends the lawsuit represents an effort to extract millions of dollars from both her personally and from JPMorgan Chase through reputational destruction.

The counterclaim highlights what Hajdini characterizes as a significant timeline discrepancy in her accuser's allegations. She notes that he did not report any instances of harassment or assault until May 2025, despite his claims dating back nearly a year earlier. The anonymous plaintiff had alleged that Hajdini forced him to participate in non-consensual and humiliating sexual acts, and that she once threatened to contact immigration authorities regarding people in his life.

Hajdini has categorically denied these allegations, calling her accuser a liar. In her counterclaim, she asserts that the lawsuit has devastated both her professional standing and personal life through what she describes as a salacious narrative constructed by the plaintiff.

The executive claims she has received threats since the lawsuit first generated media coverage. She further alleges that she and her family have been subjected to continuous mockery, ridicule, and harassment around the clock as a result of the public nature of the accusations.

JPMorgan Chase has publicly supported Hajdini throughout the legal proceedings. The financial institution previously stated that following an internal investigation, it found no merit to the claims against the executive. The bank noted that while numerous employees cooperated with the investigation, the complainant refused to participate and declined to provide facts that would be central to supporting his allegations.

The case underscores the complex legal and reputational dynamics that emerge when workplace harassment allegations become public. Both parties now face the prospect of extended litigation as Hajdini's defamation counterclaim moves forward alongside the original harassment lawsuit.

The plaintiff in the original lawsuit has chosen to remain anonymous, a common practice in cases involving allegations of sexual misconduct. The outcome of both the harassment claims and the defamation counterclaim will likely hinge on evidence presented during discovery and potential testimony from JPMorgan employees who participated in the internal investigation.
