Two people are dead following a hit-and-run collision in Montclair, California, on Saturday night, according to reporting by KTLA cited by TMZ.com. The driver struck a group of cyclists at approximately 10 PM and then fled, dragging one of the victims more than a mile from the point of impact.
According to the account, the group consisted of young men, possibly teenagers, who were riding bicycles together when a gray Honda reportedly slammed into them. The victim who was dragged was left in a residential neighborhood. It remains unclear whether that person was among the two individuals killed.
Imagery from the scene was described as graphic, with one of the deceased covered by a blanket and bicycles scattered across the roadway. As of the latest reporting, police had not identified any of the victims or a possible suspect.
The incident adds to growing concern in Southern California communities about collisions involving cyclists and drivers who leave the scene. Montclair residents and local officials will be watching closely for updates as law enforcement continues its investigation into the vehicle and its driver.
Anyone with information about the collision or the gray Honda is encouraged to contact local authorities. The case remains under investigation, and no further details about the victims or the suspect have been released.
