AUSTIN, Texas — A nude festivalgoer briefly turned The Chainsmokers' Friday night set at the Austin City Limits Music Festival into an unexpected spectacle, according to video obtained by TMZ.
The footage, which TMZ published on Monday, October 12, 2026, shows a man wearing no clothing dancing among the crowd at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas, as the electronic duo performed. The man appeared unbothered by his lack of attire as he moved to the music.
The dancing was not the only disruption, however. According to witnesses cited by TMZ, the man removed his clothes, covered himself in mud, and then directed aggressive behavior toward individuals working in the vicinity of the sound booth. Those same witnesses alleged that he swung punches and tried to cause damage to sound equipment, with some estimating that the episode ran for about 10 minutes.
The commotion reportedly drew a reaction from the stage. Drew Taggart, one half of The Chainsmokers, is said to have responded to the naked attendee during the performance, according to TMZ.
As of Monday, it remained unknown what led the man to disrobe, and TMZ reported that it was unclear whether law enforcement became involved.
The Chainsmokers' appearance at Zilker Park was part of the festival's Friday night lineup. The incident adds to the long tradition of unusual crowd moments at large outdoor music events, though it stands out even by festival standards.
