A heavy police presence descended on RJ Mitte's Texas neighborhood on Monday after the "Breaking Bad" actor was found dead at his home, according to TMZ.
Video obtained by TMZ shows multiple police vehicles parked outside the residence on Monday, with officers restricting access to part of the roadway in front of the property. Yellow crime scene tape was placed around the home while law enforcement vehicles occupied the street during the response.
Mitte died at his home on Monday, and TMZ reports he died by suicide. Law enforcement officials told the outlet that the death investigation remains ongoing.
The actor's death has halted his upcoming projects. He had been set to star in the film "Forgotten Outlaw," which was in pre-production at the time of his death.
Nik Tizekker, the film's writer and director, told TMZ that the project is now on hold. Tizekker said he intends to recast the role and continue with the movie in order to honor Mitte's wishes.
Tizekker also disclosed that he and Mitte had been collaborating on a limited series titled "Like It Was Yesterday," which explores near-death experiences. Mitte had already shot scenes for the project, and production was approximately halfway finished when he died.
Mitte was best known for his portrayal of Walter White Jr. on AMC's hit series "Breaking Bad." He lived with cerebral palsy and spent years advocating for disability awareness and expanded representation in Hollywood.
